My parents, the kids and I took off on an adventure to Portland to visit Elise. Sanders was going on a golf trip to Banden Dunes so we figured it would be a good time for us to take a trip ourselves - plus we were eager to escape the 100 degree temperatures. We had a little bit of a hiccup leaving Shreveport - our flight was delayed getting into shreveport which was going to make us miss our flight to Portland so we ended up leaving Thursday morning instead of Wednesday afternoon. Little Sanders was devasted but I assured him we would get there eventually. Luckily everything went smoothly on Thursday and we got to Portland in time to enjoy most of the day. We had a great trip! The weather was amazing in the mid 70's. We spent a lot of time outdoors and just taking it easy. The kids loved seeing Baby Wiley even though he was feeling a little under the weather most of the trip. We were sad to head back to the heat on Sunday!
Here is a summary of pictures from our trip . . .
we walked down to the playground near Elise's house - the kids loved the big slide |

On Saturday, we went to this Wine and Art Festival in the wine country. The kids were adorable on the dance floor! I had to bribe Sanders to get out there but he loved it! |
