Getting ready for the school parties

We spent most of the night tonight getting ready for the kids' Halloween parties at school tomorrow. And when I say "we" I mean Sanders (my husband) helped out too! We bonded over icing cupcakes - I guess these are the kind of "special" moments you get together when you have 2 kids! Anyways, I decided to be extra creative tonight and attempt these "candy corn" cupcakes I found online. They consisted of orange and yellow batter with fluffy, buttery, marshmallow icing. I'm not sure how good they'll taste but they turned out really cute.

I also put together the teacher and class gifts. I gave all the kids in both classes orange and black popcorn that I ordered from www.momandpopcorn.com. I also found these cute little buckets from Target that I filled with the popcorn for Mae's teachers. For Mrs. Caraway, I found these cute Halloween soaps on etsy.

A visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Today we stopped by the St. Luke's Pumpkin Patch to pick out a few pumpkins for the kids (and to take some cute pictures of course).

Here they are . . .

Las Vegas Trip

We had a fun weekend with Britt and Greer in Las Vegas this past weekend.

To sum up the weekend we went to Nobu on Thursday night, shopped on Friday, took the staff to Tao that night - which still ranks as my favorite restaurant, and then went to the SW Steakhouse at the Wynn and the Beatles "Love" show on Saturday night. It was an action packed weekend but still managed to catch up on sleep and relax a little - even in Vegas. We didn't do too much gambling this time - probably because Sanders had just been out there a month ago and got his "gambling fix". It was a great weekend!

I didn't take too many pictures but here are a few . . .

Sanders' Pajama Day at School

Sanders has been learning about the letter "P" this week at school and to go with it they had pajama day at school today! It definitely made for an easy morning of getting him ready. He had to wear his Halloween pjs - he loves them!

Enjoying some "down time" after a busy weekend

Sanders was playing in the Trace Cup at the club this weekend so the kids and I were solo on Sunday morning. We had a busy weekend so we decided to just hang around the house and take it easy.

Here are a few cute pictures I took of the kids while we were enjoying some "down time"

Mae already loves wearing my clothes

I think I am in trouble . . . I was getting dressed for John and CeCe's wedding tonight and pulled out my one of my favorite "wedding" dresses to wear. I showed it to Mae and she immediately said "that my dress" and wanted to put it on. Sure enough she figured out how to get it on her and found the headband to match. I don't think she realized it was a little big. I am really going to be in trouble when she is in highschool and sneaking in my closet to wear my clothes. The fun has already begun!

Accessorized and all!

this is what happened when I took the dress off of her. She was convinced it was "her dress"

Elise's Baby Shower

It has been a busy weekend . . . First the First Baptist Fall Carnival, then Kathryn and John's shower and finally Elise's baby shower!!! I was in full party planning mode this weekend!

Here are some pictures from the shower. It was really sweet and Elise got some great stuff for little Wiley! We can't wait for him to arrive.

The kids came home by the end of the shower. They couldn't wait to see Aunt Lisey!

Mae has already changed into her "favorite" dress to take a picture with Aunt Elise!

Sanders wanted to play dress-up too. Daddy would not be happy about this

This is a rare picture to get. We haven't all been together in a year!
