A Trip to the Blueberry Farm

Today I took the kids to the Shuqualak Blueberry Farm. We brought Campbell Gosslee with us so Sanders could have a friend to tag along with. It was such a neat place. The kids each got little buckets to fill up with blueberries and blackberries even though the blackberries are on the end of their season. We didn't get there until 11am so it was really HOT! The kids were troopers though. They had fun picking the berries for about 30 minutes but then were worn out from the heat. We headed back to their little house and they gave us all a blueberry popsicle and let the kids help sort the berries. They got a kick out of that. We brought home 3 buckets of blueberries for only $15! I definitely want to try going again earlier in the morning when it isn't so hot! It was a fun activity!

Watching them sift the blueberries . . .

they got to dust them into the bags

Eating the popsicles in the shade (of course Sanders didn't eat one)

Mae loved it!!

  2. This has been on my list of things to do for the past few weekends but I just can't bring myself to go out there in 100 degree weather! Looks like the blueberries are still growing though! Maybe this weekend...
